STCA's first gala event titled "Cross culture for Filmmakers" was held at a beautiful club house on the top of the Palos Verdes peninsula. At the event, Chinese filmmakers and movie stars, such as Nuoming Huar ("Horizon"), Fang Zhang("The Master of Chinese traditional medicine") and Hollywood stars and producers, such as Whip Hubley("Top Gun") and Tracy Reiner (daughter of Director Penny Marshall) attended this event. Their presence made STCA's cultural exchange event more interesting and entertaining. STCA also raised and collected funds for Japan earthquake victims. All the collected funds are donated to American Red Cross for Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami Relief Efforts. At the event, China's biggest TV channel CCTV documented the entire event and the clips will be airing in mid-April all over China. The movie crew of the film titled "Chinese films go to Hollywood" also shot the gala event program and activities of "Cross culture for Filmmakers" on the site. The movie will be watched by worldwide viewers in later June, 2011. Thanks to the sponsors and members for your generous support to STCA! |
